About us

The Central Coast Sealions Spearfishing Club (CCS) is a community-driven, not-for-profit organisation focused on promoting sustainable spearfishing practices, fostering camaraderie among local divers, and supporting various community initiatives. We are deeply committed to giving back to the community that has helped shape the club to what it is today.

We are based right here in Terrigal on the Central Coast and have been running since the early 1950’s.

As a club, the CCS holds social spearfishing events each month both locally and away up and down the NSW East Coast. Each event is planned in advance for the year and is typically held on the 4th Sunday of each month. Divers of all skill levels come together to share their passion for the ocean and refine their spearfishing techniques. These gatherings provide a supportive environment for like-minded individuals to build friendships, exchange knowledge, and learn best practices in a safe and encouraging atmosphere. Each event provides the perfect opportunity to explore some of Australia’s stunning dive locations while fostering a community that values camaraderie and adventure. Whether you're a seasoned spearfisher or just starting out, our club invites you to dive in and discover the thrill of this rewarding activity.

CCS also holds monthly meetings at the Breakers Country club on the 4th Thursday of each month. The monthly spearfishing club meetings provide members with vital updates on upcoming events, including competitions and group outings, fostering a sense of community among divers. In addition to these announcements, the club offers a range of workshops designed to enhance knowledge across all aspects of spearfishing. Topics cover everything from gear selection and safety practices to fish identification and sustainable harvesting techniques, ensuring that both novice and experienced divers can continually improve their skills and understanding of the sport. Members are encouraged to actively participate in these sessions to make the most of their time underwater.
